What's been done
I completely redesigned the Pawshake app to address its lack of information and improve its outdated design. My redesign features a more intuitive UX and a visually appealing UI for a smoother, more enjoyable user experience.
Context
Pawshake is a pet care platform connecting pet owners with trusted local pet sitters and dog walkers. Available as a mobile app and website,
it simplifies finding pet care services while ensuring safety and convenience.
Before
The original version of the Pawshake app felt outdated and unintuitive. Certain design elements lacked responsiveness, making navigation and user interaction frustrating.
The primary user goal is to find a sitter. I focused on streamlining this process by creating the shortest path and minimizing unnecessary steps like manual data entry. This helps users reach their desired outcome quickly and effortlessly.
In my design version, I used native UI elements based on the iOS design system. Also, I established a clear hierarchy of text styles and built a brand identity based on the previous version. I tried to stick to a blue color scheme.
In the project, I set up design libraries that include color tokens, text styles, and reusable components. This approach ensures design consistency, speeds up the workflow, and simplifies future updates.
In the previous app version, the login part was raw and had no helping notes. So the users could be cunfused and stuck in the beginning og the using app.
Redesigned the sitter’s profile and payment screens to improve clarity and usability. The new layout highlights service history and upcoming commitments in a structured way, while quick actions allow easy profile edits, photo uploads, and detail sharing. The updated payment flow simplifies checkout and ensures a smoother, faster experience.
Streamlined navigation: Reduced the number of steps to complete a booking and emphasized progress indicators so users always know where they are in the process.
